Garret Biss is an author, speaker and the founder of a nonprofit, One Million Goal, Inc. The mission of One Million Goal is to raise awareness and support efforts to provide water – life’s most critical resource – to those in need. Today, an estimated 750 million men, women and children lack access to clean drinking water. Many claim the current water crisis is responsible for filling at least half the hospital beds in the world and costing the lives of more than 2,000 children every day.

Our Goal is to raise enough money for, and awareness about, the global water crisis to provide life’s most critical resource to one million men, women and children in need.

He’ll explain how the water crisis is not just a thirst issue, but how the lack of clean drinking water – a fate suffered by 1 in 10 people – is a foundational issue that creates or exacerbates many more. Hundreds of millions of people around the world are plagued by disease, poverty, hunger, gender inequality, illiteracy, sexual assault and even terrorism solely because they lack access to reliable, clean drinking water. Too much suffering and death is the result of this one issue.

"Even with the seed, the soil and the sunshine, the miracle of life doesn’t begin until you add water. So, too, is the nature of peace and wellness around the globe. All efforts to fight tyranny, poverty or disease will provide no enduring cure for suffering if we don't first start by providing clean drinking water."
