One Million Goal returned to Nicaragua in July of 2019 to provide a reliable, safe source of drinking water to those in need and to check up on our previous installations. Because of donor support, we delivered clean water systems to more than 400 MORE people, and were able to check up on installed UV purification systems in local schools from past visits.

Our trip focused on providing a water purification system to an additional school near the city of Managua. At Escuela Gracia Abundante, we were able to install a filtration system in the school which will serve an estimated 350 children each.  Installation at this school involved.  We also supplied water filtration buckets to two other schools including on where installing an untavolet filter was not possible for this trip.

In a return visit to one of the poorest communities in the Managua area, we were able to distribute 14 additional bucket filter systems. The community, El Limonal y Chureca which is in a triangular area containing the city dump, a cemetery, and a water treatment plant, houses about 1000 people, half of whom are under the age of 18.  These buckets will protect families by filtering and purifying their water for years to come.

Stay tuned for more – we plan on returning to Nicaragua in October of this year.
